Swartz Center for Theoretical Neurobiology

The Swartz Center for Theoretical Neuroscience at Caltech was created to integrate problem-solving approaches from physics, mathematics, electrical engineering and computer science into neuroscience research, to better understand the relationship between the human brain and mind, one of the great frontiers of 21st-century science. The Swartz Foundation supports post-doctoral research in theoretical neuroscience at 11 universities and scientific institutions across the country.

The director of the center at Caltech is Prof. Richard Andersen. The co-director is Prof. Markus Meister.
